Triduum and Easter!

Hello everyone.

In a few hours we will begin the Triduum liturgy celebrating the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. Everything we do during the rest of the liturgical year comes from and points to this one great liturgy. Most of all, we need to remember to approach these mysteries not as bystanders but as participants. On Holy Thursday we are with Jesus in the Upper Room, hearing him say, "Do this in memory of me." On Good Friday we follow the Lord to the cross and the grave, keeping vigil with the holy women. On Saturday evening we celebrate with the whole world the Resurrection and the gift of new life which it brings to us. Standing outside the empty tomb we can proclaim with the earliest apostles: "He is Risen!"

May this special time bring you the grace and peace of Christ. Please know of my prayers for you and your families on Easter and throughout the year.
