Marathon

Only two days to go for the big walkathon! I'm sure I could have done a better job preparing, but I feel ready to do this. I walked 15.1 miles last night and feel fine today. I just need to "carb up" and make sure I drink a lot of fluids before Weds. We received a lot of good support yesterday after all the Masses and are on our way toward reaching our goal to raising thousands of dollars to renovate the school ceilings. Please keep spreading the news about the event and point people to our website for more information (and a live feed all day Wednesday!): www.st-ignatius.org.

God bless,

Blessed Basil Moreau, CSC

Hello from the pastor's office!

Today we celebrate the feast day of Blessed Basil Moreau, CSC -- the founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Blessed Moreau wished to gather people around him who would spread out around the world to be "Educators in the Faith". All of us today are part of that legacy, and we hope to teach others about Jesus Christ through everything we say and do.

I'm training for the big walkathon to benefit the school. On February 2, I will be walking 26.2 miles on a treadmill in the Family Center of the school. It should take about 8 hours if all goes well. Come by to encourage me and say "Hello." Also, if you are so inclined, feel free to make a donation or a pledge. All funds received will go toward replacing our ceilings, which look like old, stained, and ugly asbestos ceilings (fortunately, they are not asbestos!). You can make a donation online through the parish's website: www.st-ignatius.org

God bless you today and every day.

A community full of faith

Merry Christmas (still)!
As the Christmas season winds down we continue to marvel at the wonder of the Incarnation. Here in the parish we see signs of a vibrant faith in the many gatherings, liturgies and celebrations we have been having. This week we celebrated 5 funerals which, though challenging for many of us, provided opportunities for families and friends to gather to express their faith in the Resurrection. As well the children are back in school, filling the halls and classrooms with joy and life once again. Last night we welcomed the Notre Dame Folk Choir for a delightful concert, and the many folks who attended contributed over $1600 for our St. Vincent de Paul ministry. May the joy of Christmas always be at the center of this community!
